As a Product Owner within Enterprise Data Management (EDM) you will work closely with the Nike privacy team as well as business and technical stewards to drive the maturity of data governance to enable Nike business functions to meet their strategic objectives across data privacy initiatives.


  • Primary point of contact within EDM for engagement on data privacy initiatives
  • Subject Matter Expert for personal data inventory within the EDM organization
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and architects to define and prioritize features and stories within an Agile environment related to data privacy initiatives
  • Own, maintain and prioritize EDM product backlog(s); facilitate feature mapping, break features into stories, define acceptance criteria, and ensure capacity for enablers and defects
  • Translate the technical strategies, objectives and conceptual frameworks of data privacy inventory initiatives to business counterparts
  • Interface with technical and business resources to understand requirements, communicate issues and coordinate project details
  • Drive the ongoing maturation of Data Frameworks (e.g. Basic, Managed, Mature) for given business units across the enterprise
  • Partner with Business and Technology Stewards to identify key risks and control gaps in business processes
  • Frequently provide input on the Product Roadmap; actively identify and solution for risks and constraints; continually identify dependencies and coordinate with dependent teams
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure collaboration on enterprise wide programs that include enterprise data impacts for the business
  • Engages with business and information architecture to support data stewards and owners on managing their information landscapes related to personal data

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or related field
  • +6 years' experience in data analysis across systems and processes; should include comprehensive experience as a business process lead or as a lead in a functional role
  • Working knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act)
  • Experience working with data discovery tools
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and changing demands
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and influencing skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Proven experience building strong working relationships and working successfully in cross-functional teams
  • Passion for data and governance with demonstrated ability to use data to tell a story and influence decision making
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and how they translate to business requirements
  • Detail oriented with strong information seeking skills
  • Great listening skills and openness to different points of view
  • Self-motivated and collaborative with ability to resolve conflict

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
