Description With the goal of turning athletes into superstars and events into spectacles, the Public Relations Manager will be responsible for cultivating national and local news pieces for mainstream and western lifestyle audiences. Backed with the strength of ENDEAVOR's media reach this position will secure athlete interviews, distribute event results, advance press kits, lifestyle pieces and industry communication. This position will equally support both the PBR and WCRA and be fully integrated with the PBR's Public Relations Team. This individual must have or be interested in developing a passion for and comprehensive understanding of sports and/or the professional bull riding landscape. A passion for pop-culture, entertainment and the ability to excite consumers through social channels are essential. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Arrange and organize event media relations, including media day schedules and materials, athlete appearances and interviews
  • Develop and execute promotional activities for events, in tandem with the Sponsorship and Marketing Teams
  • Research and propose new public relations and promotions concepts
  • Write and edit a variety of materials, including website content; press releases; video news release shot sheets; satellite feeds; press kit information; etc.
  • Assist in the development and production of media guides and other materials as assigned
  • Update and maintain athlete profiles and contact information
  • Cold call media outlets to arrange interviews, appearances, and other media exposure for the PBR and WCRA
  • Brief entire public relations and marketing department personnel on assigned event's activities and provide a working schedule for each event
  • Maintain and distribute via fax, email and phone press release broadcasts list
  • Post press releases and media information to the web site as appropriate
  • Respond to, or direct, media inquiries as appropriate, in a timely fashion
  • Manage additional media or public relations functions as requested
  • Proactively pursue national media mentions for the PBR and WCRA
  • Assist PR/Marketing team members
  • Travel to WCRA and PBR events as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) are required
  • Creativity, time and project management skills
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage change
  • Working knowledge of Associated Press Style Guide
  • Proficiency using MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point) Education & Formal Training:
  • 2-4 years of PR experience in the sports and entertainment industry
  • Bachelor's degree - Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Informatics and or Business preferred Working Conditions:
  • Normal office hours Monday-Friday, non-event months
  • Travel, extended hours, and weekends may be required
  • Ability to travel extensively (to PBR and WCRA events and related meetings)
