Program Details:

NFL Summer Internship Program participants have the opportunity to contribute to the organization's success while receiving an unmatched, behind-the-scenes learning experience. Though interns work within specific departments, they are able to explore all aspects of the business of professional football through challenging project assignments, speaker presentations, mentoring relationships, and networking opportunities.

The summer program covers a minimum of 8 weeks, from Monday, June 3, 2019 through Friday, July 26, 2019. Please note that some departments may require their interns to work past the official end date. If so, this will be communicated to the applicant during the interview process. Interns will be required to work five (5) full days (approximately 40 hours) per week. Interns will be paid an hourly rate for their work. Relocation assistance is not provided for Summer Internship Program Participants.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support senior management in overall media strategy initiatives (specifically around key territory renewals and Game Pass (NFLI's D2C product) distribution), including creation of comprehensive and cohesive presentations for senior-leadership review
  • Identify, support negotiations and management of strategic partnerships with media companies globally for distribution of NFL content
  • Support execution of new business opportunities including expansion of new products and assets across various media platforms including broadcast television and digital media
  • Conduct financial analysis and develop proposals towards negotiation of media contracts
  • Prepare market analysis, strategic business objectives and revenue projections for the business
  • Help NFL International Media team meet financials goals for the business
  • Maintain market intelligence on media trends and sports rights globally Create and make strategic presentations to leadership inside and outside the organization


    Currently enrolled in a Master's/MBA program, graduating either Fall of 2019 or Spring of 2020
  • Candidates must be able to show experience and understanding of the media industry and key trends within the media landscape
  • Experience in sports industry preferred
  • Understanding of digital media space and evolving trends
  • Knowledge and experience working with the mobile space including development, content distribution and marketing
  • Ability to work with commercial agreements and possessing an understanding of contracts, particularly licensing arrangements
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and capability of modeling
  • Proven ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Ability to create and make strategic and deal related presentations to management
  • Experience and interest in working with international cultures
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight time-frames
  • Self-starter with keen interest in growing the business
  • A team player who is capable of interacting and working cross-functionally in a multi-function organization
  • Very strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
  • A minimum GPA of at least 3.2. Academic transcripts (official or unofficial) will be requested Some prior internship and/or work experience is preferred
  • Background in analytics, consulting or project management preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint Demonstrated interest in working in professional sports Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the United States and international students must have all visas and employment authorizations prior to the start of the internship.
