As the IT Digital Products Director at Brooks you lead a team that is responsible for the development of digital experiences for runners including Brooks' web sites in the US and Europe and across all devices (desktop, tablet, phone) and mobile applications. You take a customer-centric approach to engaging runners wherever they are to promote the Brooks' brand and Run Happy spirit. You lead planning, development, day-to-day management, and support for Brooks' digital products. Your team is responsible for creating new and enhanced offerings including web development, quality assurance, deployment, and support. You develop the business relationships with key stakeholders to ensure solutions are meeting business needs and act as an advocate for Digital Products throughout the organization. You use a service mentality to deliver solutions using best practices, processes, standards, and tools. Responsibilities:
  • Lead, direct, coach and mentor the Digital Products team. Establish challenging objectives for team members and monitor performance against these objectives. Ability to empower and motivate team members. Partner with other IT leaders to build the capability of the Global IT organization.
  • Using the company strategic objectives, Marketing vision, architecture and road map, eCommerce roadmap and business priorities as your guide, develop and maintain the Digital Products roadmap and plan. Recommend projects and initiatives that enhance Brooks' digital offerings.
  • Maintain key business relationships, specifically with eCommerce and Marketing leaders, to ensure Brooks' digital products support business strategies and plans.
  • Leverage the product management and user experience competencies within Brooks to ensure that delivered features are usable and aligned with Brooks' customer experience objectives.
  • Manage the delivery of new and enhanced digital products using an agile implementation approach and ITIL-based change control processes. Implement rigor around software releases including the establishment testing tools and methodologies.
  • Define and document the technical architectures used for digital products and the relationships to other Brooks and partner systems.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving web, mobile, and eCommerce technologies and promote their adoption where appropriate.
  • Support ongoing operations of the Brooks' web site to provide a high level of availability and reliability.
  • Develop and manage relationships with vendors who provide platforms and components that enable the digital solutions. Negotiate contracts that ensure performance and deliverables meet specifications.
  • Ensure clear prioritization of the technical work.
  • Manage resource planning including hours dedicated to production system support and project work.
  • Evaluate resource utilization and implement changes to improve the team's effectiveness.
  • Participate in the analysis, design, selection, and implementation of new solutions.
  • Manage capital and operational expenditures in alignment with allocated budget. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or relevant major. Additional higher education such as an MBA or technical certifications a plus.
  • 7+ years of proven success leading a team of individuals in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • 10+ years of experience with consumer internet implementing web-based and/or mobile solutions.
  • Understanding of web technologies is required.
  • Understanding of web development principles and processes.
  • Experience working in a global environment with colleagues from different cultures.
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative - always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help out wherever necessary.
  • Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products or other departments' operations and/or morale; "connecting the dots."
  • Experience working with agile development methods in a pragmatic way.
  • Experience with service management principles. ITIL certification a plus.
  • Retail industry experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) platform a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company.
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all of the pieces fit together and affect one another.
  • Passionate participation in Brooks' sports activities a plus, overridden by the ability to understand and empathize with the runner in order to develop loyal, engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community.
