Sales Training Program
Posted on Nov 13, 2018 by Rockwell Automation
Rockwell Automation's Sales Training Program is a nine to twelve month rotational training program that is a combination of sales, technical and professional training in both classroom and on-the-job settings. After completion of the training program, Associates are placed in a field sales office in one of our 40+ locations across North America.
There are two tracks in this program: Associate Account Manager and Associate Domain Expert. Both roles work closely with Rockwell Automation's customer's and partners to grow sales, each with a different focus. The Associate Account Manager role is primarily focused on managing customer relationships, understanding their operations, and solving business needs. Our Associate Domain Experts are primarily focused on demonstrating expertise on our technology and educating our customers on how to apply this technology to solve their challenges.
The account manager role is a critical link between Rockwell Automation and our customers. Associate Account Managers are responsible for customer relationships and market share growth in an assigned geographic area. Associate Account Managers consult our customers on the effective application of Rockwell Automation products and services. They develop and manage new customer accounts, advise customers on automation solutions and introduce new products.
Our domain experts are technical resources specializing in a specific product area. Domain Experts augment our sales efforts by providing pre-sales technical, product, and applications support. Associate Domain Experts are responsible for providing technical sales support to grow new business in a geographic area.
A role in either track is right for you if:
- You enjoy working with people!
- You enjoy acting as a consultant - listening to a customer's needs and finding a solution to exceed their expectations.
- You enjoy new challenges daily
- You don't want to work behind a desk
Our Associate Account Managers and Associate Domain Experts need to become thoroughly familiar with company policies and procedures and appropriately apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
