Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Manages all Buyers and Assistant Buyers assigned to maximize productivity and TSM growth potential to ensure all buying/expediting responsibilities are achieved. Responsible for daily analyzing and review of all merchandise needs to ensure attainment of set fulfillment rates to various distribution centers thereby ensuring total customer satisfaction. Develops team members to further their professional growth and ensure they achieve their service, margin and inventory objectives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Manages respective assigned Buyers and Assistant Buyers and performs daily, monthly, yearly monitoring of same including performance reviews.
Responsible for daily workload of assigned Buyers and Assistant Buyers, including work monitoring, performance comparison to expectations, and supplier interaction, as well as validation of Top Backorders and Cross ship responses.
Manages team to research and resolve situations that affect inventory fill rate, and determines reason for deviation from the plan. Takes appropriate corrective action.
Manages special buying agreements including negotiations of additional discounts, thereby increasing inner margin.
Manages team to form and keep favorable relationships with vendors, balanced with sales teams, to maximize profitability.
Manages team to work with Marketing and Merchandising to recommend disposition of discontinued and slow moving products.
Performs Buyer and Assistant Buyer (Buyer Evaluations) on a period basis to ensure all Inventory Management goals are actively being reviewed and actions are being directed to ensure goals are met.
Responsible for managing the team that analyzes and forecasts merchandise needs to ensure the right products and quantities are available for shipment to customers.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Manages the team on all aspects of purchasing Non Stocking Items.


Qualifications

Experience:

Three to five years previous experience as a buyer or comparable position. Supervisory experience preferred

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Strong understanding of Inventory Management/Replenishment, ability to manage, develop and motivate people, must demonstrate leadership abilities, have prior system skills including E3, process good analytical, decision making, and communication skills. Good P.C. skills required including Windows, Outlook and Microsoft Office.

Other: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
