ROLE SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner participates in all aspects of patient care. Performs evaluation by physical examinations, gathers extensive patient histories and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition and documents in the medical record in a timely manner. Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families. Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments. Discusses appropriate cases with supervising physician and/or specialist to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation within prescribed guidelines. Prescribes or recommends medication or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy or related therapeutic procedures to patients. May refer patients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment. Works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patients.
QUA L IFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master's degree in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner concentration.
Experience: Minimum of two years in specialty working preferred. Relevant Nursing experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Level of Business Knowledge/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Hold current ARNP License in the State of Washington with prescriptive ability, which requires successful completion of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification and re-certification as necessary. Completion of required CME's to maintain current Certification. Access to dependable transportation required.

Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition and documents in the medical record in a timely manner. Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families. Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments. Discusses appropriate cases with supervising physician and/or specialist to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by supervising physician as required. Prescribes or recommends medication or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy or related therapeutic procedures to patients. May refer patients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment. Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment, productivity, and high quality patient care.
QUA L IFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from a Physician Assistant program which is approved from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) .
Experience: Minimum of two years in specialty working preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Successful completion of certifying examination and re-certifying exams administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) . Current Physician Assistant License by the state of Washington. Current DEA License. Access to dependable transportation required. Completion of required CME's to maintain current Certification by the NCCPA.
Level of Business Knowledge/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: knowledge of state and federal regulations and industry requirements.
