U.S. Security Associates Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to supervise a team of armed security professionals. The site security supervisor is directly responsible for the overall performance, scheduling and execution of the security force responsibilities at their facility of assignment. Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Reports directly to the USSA Program Manager of Contract Security
  • Manages and directs a team of armed security professionals at a federal facility
  • Ensures that all officers under their command possess sound knowledge of existing policies, and adhere to those policies in the commission of their duties
  • Prepares scheduling, timesheets, and weekly reports for management
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for security officers to address scheduling and/or personnel related issues
  • Directly responsible for ensuring security officers complete monthly training assignments and stay up to date on policies and/or procedures
  • Communicates with federal law enforcement officials, management, and branch personnel to ensure the overall security standards are met and exceeded
  • Evaluates work performance of security officers under their command
  • Reviews daily activity reports and incident reports for accuracy
  • Protects personnel and property in a professional manner
Maintains tactful and professional relations with employees and visitors at facilities
Efficiently screens visitors and records precise information to a log
Identifies, reports, and addresses reportable incidents at facilities in accordance to policy
Works remotely or alone in a safe manner
Subject to standing or walking for long periods of time
Must be proficient with the use and safe handling of firearms
Maintains monthly and semi-annual training requirements
Detects and immediately responds to site emergencies
Effectively communicates via 2 way radio and cell phone on a daily basis
Conducts random foot/vehicle patrols of facility property
Operates a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner
Checks fence lines for integrity issues and physically inspects gate locks
Performs random vehicle and/or package inspections
Posts at entry points and assists emergency responders with gaining access to the facility during emergencies, and assist others with evacuations during emergencies.
Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age
Must be US Citizen
Possess a valid driver s license
Meet state armed guard licensing requirements, or be eligible to meet those requirements prior to employment
Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Possess 2 years of armed physical security experience, past law enforcement, or a military background deemed equivalent to meet the requirements of the position
A degree from an accredited college of university is preferred but not required; will consider education, training, and/or other work experience deemed equivalent to the position
Possess a minimum of two years of supervisory experience, or other experience that is deemed equivalent to that of the position
Possess excellent interaction skills to effectively manage a diverse work force
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to excel in a fast paced environment
Be efficient with different types of computer software in word processing, spread-sheets, and personal information management
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical agility test
Must successfully pass a criminal and credit background investigation to include previous employment, reference checks, and motor vehicle record
Must successfully pass additional background investigation for site access
Must obtain a sensitive security clearance prior to employment, and maintain that clearance throughout the course of employment
