Operates CT Scanner to obtain quality diagnostic images. Provides appropriate patient education regarding the CT radiology procedure. The technologist ensures that all aspects of patient radiology records are processed and documented properly to initiate procedure results in a timely manner. Practices and adheres to all Service Excellence and 6 star non-negotiable standards to provide the best patient experience.
1.Education and Training
.Graduate of an A.MA. approved school of Radiologic Technology and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
.Must be licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Ohio.
.Advanced registry required or CT registry eligible at time of hire
.Must obtain registry within 6 months from hire date.
.BLS Certification required.
One (1) year CT experience preferred. For PRN positions, at least one year current experience required.
3.Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
.Manual dexterity sufficient to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients, apply and adjust restraining devices and administer intravenous injections of contrast
.Ability to lift and position patients.
.Successful completion of training to perform other radiology procedures (eg, select C.T. procedures, diagnostic radiographs and surgery etc.).
.Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate patient records management as directed by coordinator and/or manager.
.Continued need to update knowledge and skills through membership and participation in professional associations; attending meetings and seminars; reading professional journals.
.Requires full range of body motion which may include handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
.Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
.Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
.May require exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment, such as risk of falls, strains, etc.
