While Basketball Operations runs the league's on-court activities, other departments manage relationships with television and digital media partners, develop marketing partnerships with some of the world's most recognizable companies, oversee the licensing of NBA merchandise, and handle a wide range of responsibilities that drive the NBA's success.

Global Media Distribution manages relationships with the NBA's domestic and international television and digital media partners. The group oversees the distribution of NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, Jr. NBA, NBA 2K League and USA Basketball games and programming content in more than 200 countries and territories. The content is circulated in more than 40 different languages, reaching millions of households worldwide. Candidate must thrive in a fast-paced work environment and exhibit strong data analysis and problem-solving skills. Candidate should have an aptitude for collaboration and communication and exhibit the ability not only to present the results but also to explain the "why" behind the results and propose alternatives.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Be an expert on viewership, industry trends and case studies and establish and follow process to keep business leads informed
  • Prepare and automate viewership data analysis for all platforms in a concise, well organized and visually appealing manner
  • Drive analytical projects by leading requirement-gathering sessions, properly documenting discussions and preparing expected deliverable(s)
  • Provide both ongoing and ad hoc data analyses with the goal of informing business decisions
  • Analyze historical viewership to create predictive models based on a variety of factors
  • Enhance and standardize deal modeling in order to inform and optimize the economics in both domestic and international media negotiations
  • Provide guidance and implement strategic and tactical approaches to gather new data sources and generate insights
  • Interface with strategic distribution partners, prepare robust analytical analysis and answer their questions with relevant and accurate supporting information
  • Participate in ongoing research and evaluation of new technologies and analytical solutions
  • Present data analysis verbally and written in written summary and extended reporting


Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Passion for and knowledge of media landscape, content licensing models and sports content offering
  • Curiosity and drive to uncover root causes of unexpected outcomes
  • Confidence in communicating findings and recommendations persuasively, in a compelling and easy-to-understand manner
  • Proven ability to reconcile and harmonize diverse data and provide standardization for analysis
  • Outstanding quantitative, financial, research, modeling, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently within set objectives
  • Proven ability to synthesize data into key insights and present final analysis (both verbally and in writing) to senior leadership


Experience Needed

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in analytics, modeling and consulting
  • Experience with multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Experience in television measurement (including proficiency with Nielsen, Kantar and comScore)
  • Experience with analyzing digital content viewership and engagement metrics analytics (including experience with Adobe, Conviva, Google Analytics or similar tool)
  • Advanced capabilities with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Proficiency with SQL-based data query languages; Experience working with a data visualization tool (Tableau) a plus
  • Media or Consulting industry experience a plus


Educational Background Required

  • BA/BS degree required
