Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:

This position will assist with developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan to increase revenue, raise attendance and enhance in game promotions to maximize the fan experience. The primary focus will be to create and execute marketing plans for Women's Volleyball, Women's Basketball, and Lacrosse. Position will work with coaches on promotional concepts and interface with Sports Information, Ticket Office, Buff Club, BuffVision and the multi-media rights holder to coordinate and implement successful in-game promotions, halftime activities and ticket sales efforts for their sports. Will manage the in-game experience for players and spectators by creating promotions, producing the game script and coordinating the in-game presentation. The position will also be responsible for marketing to CU students by utilizing social media and other outlets to promote season/single tickets, events and games to generate awareness and increase attendance. Position will assist in soliciting and cultivating groups to target for ticket sales and identify future prospects to target.

WHAT YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Developing, implementing and managing marketing plans for Volleyball & Women's Basketball and Lacrosse. Work with coaches on promotional concepts and interface with the Sports Information Office, the Ticket Office, the Buff Club, BuffVision and multi-media rights holder to coordinate and implement successful in-game promotions, halftime activities and ticket sales effort. Create and implement the game script and coordinate game related events, performances, and presentations. Manage the video board, PA, band and spirit squad performances.

  • Coordinate Summer Events Tour and establish Coaches Speakers Bureau.

  • Assist the Marketing & Promotions Manager in the marketing & promotions efforts for Football marketing operations.

  • CU students: Market athletic events to CU students utilizing non-conventional as well standard practices. Specifically market to CU students using social media to post events, games, and generate traffic and establish a C-Unit leadership team for their sports.

  • Creating new promotional activities to increase attendance at home events and supporting marketing and promotions functions for all sports.

  • Assist in soliciting and cultivating groups to target for ticket sales and identify future prospects to target.

  • Assist with marketing intern program.

  • Assist with special events and other duties as assigned by the Marketing and Promotions Manager.

    In addition to regular office hours, must be available to work after 5pm and on weekends

    WHAT WE REQUIRE:
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Experience in collegiate or professional sports promotional/marketing environment and/or developing and implementing promotional activities and events.
    • Equivalent combination of education or experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
    • Computer skills including experience in desktop publishing (Illustrator, PhotoShop, etc.).
    • In addition to regular office hours, must be available to work after 5pm and on weekends.


    WHAT YOU WILL NEED;
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, judgment, initiative and attention to detail.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
    • Ability to organize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, plan schedules and coordinate events.
    • Must be familiar with social media networks, including but not limited to Facebook and Twitter. The position will be responsible for working with digital team to post events, game information, generating traffic and utilizing these outlets to specifically market to students and fans.
    • Knowledge of and experience in managing game day duties.
    • Comfortable in public speaking and holding a representative role to general public.


    WHAT WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE:
    • Two years Athletic marketing experience in ticket sales and game-day event planning.
    • Masters Degree in Sports Marketing/Administration or related field.
    • Experience in fulfillment of corporate sponsorship.
    • Must be comfortable making cold calls to businesses and organizations to sell tickets.
    • Previous experience with production, scripting, film and sound editing
