The HR Specialist will be responsible for providing onsite HR support to management team and employees. Proactively manage employee relations, performance management, complaint resolution and investigations and provide recommendations to management team. This position will provide leadership and support for HR initiatives, including implementation, coordination, and driving to completion multiple projects. This is a highly responsible position, requiring an advanced and broad-based knowledge of general HR concepts. Prepares and analyzes data and makes recommendations. Incumbent is expected to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • This position will report to the HR Business Manager in Headquarters, California.
  • Provide onsite HR support to management team and employees.
  • Proactively manage employee relations, complaint resolution and investigations and provides counsel and recommendations to management team.
  • Ensure legal requirements are met to protect the Company and limit claims exposure.
  • Partner with management team on workforce planning for peak season and yearly staffing needs.
  • Work with vendor management team to develop and execute strategies around recruitment advertising, job boards, research firms, technology solutions and compliance initiatives.
  • Works with the HR Team and Managers, communicating with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Manages and directs complex and long-term projects to completion, which may include influencing peers, defining and developing processes and procedures, or advising management regarding potential courses of actions. Examples include employee communications, employee recognition programs, HR Training sessions, employee events, and process improvements.
  • Coordinates appropriate project planning tasks, including resources allocation, task assignment, and progress monitoring.
  • Prepares and analyzes data and makes recommendations.
  • Works on assignments that are complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems, influencing others and making recommendations.
  • Conduct quarterly business update meetings with management team.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities.
  • Answers questions related to HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct exit interviews.

  • Manages multiple priorities and demands successfully
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience with an HRIS system including applicant tracking system.
  • Able to handle and protect sensitive and confidential employee information.
  • Possesses professional maturity and sound business and ethical judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including previous experience writing/editing HR policies, memos, training materials and other HR collateral materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work in/lead departmental and cross-functional teams.
  • Able to understand complexities of project management.
  • Able to monitor project effectiveness and make needed task adjustments to complete necessary work correctly and on time.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization and outside agencies.
  • Able to conduct group presentations.
  • Able to function in a continuously changing environment.
  • Previous experience working with Ulti-Pro preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in fast-paced HR support role
  • Bachelor's Degree equivalent
  • Completion of HR certificate a plus, or equivalent knowledge
