Job Description
The Tournament Director will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of participating teams in Elite Tournaments Events. The Tournament Director will communicate with coaches, managers, and administrators to recruit and place teams in the proper tournaments. Tournament Director will develop tournament bracketing and schedules for events. Tournament Director will work with the Marketing Department to develop a marketing plan for all events. Tournament Director will assist Operations Department with development of logistical planning.

  • Recruit teams and clubs to attend tournaments
  • Communicate with team officials to retain teams in out years
  • Attend tournaments, trade shows, and other events to interact with team officials
  • Assist Business Development Department to develop leads for new business
  • Assist in the recruitment of college coaches to attend events Operations
  • Process tournament permission to host applications
  • Set-up tournaments within GotSoccer, or other application software
  • Develop tournament schedules to account for team requirements, referee availability, field availability and coaching conflicts
  • On-site tournament director for various events
  • Assist Operations Department with development of logistics plan through integration of game schedule
  • Communicate scheduling with referee assignor for field loading and scheduling Marketing
  • Develop contacts database for teams, coaches, and administrators
  • Assist Marketing Department with development of marketing materials
  • Assist Marketing Department in the development of event marketing plan

    Qualifications and Education Requirements
    • Extensive knowledge about youth sports and particularly the soccer community in the United States
    • Superior oral and written communications skills
    • Effective organizational skills for managing multiple tasks

    Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline preferred

    Preferred Skills
    • Advance knowledge about Microsoft Office Suite
    • Previous tournament director, coaching, and/or league management experience

    Additional Requirements
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Ability to work weekends and irregular hours as needed
    • Ability to work in varying weather conditions including extreme heat and extreme cold
    • Ability to travel
    • Valid Driver's License and safe driving record
    • Reliable transportation

    Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check


    Additional Salary Information: Base Salary dependant on experience. Commission based on sales and recruitment goals
