Performs a variety of accounting duties related to financial reporting and the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's general ledger and subledgers and for the accuracy and integrity of financial information derived from them. RESPONSIBILITIES Reponsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Frequent use of general ledgers via preparation of select monthly journal entries, in accordance with Company policy and documented Sarbanes-Oxley controls. Work with Sales Tax Staff Accountant to prepare and complete monthly Sales Tax audits, in accordance with Company policy and documented Sarbanes-Oxley controls. Work with Accounts Receivable staff to validate and complete daily receivable reconciliations, m accordance with Company policy and documented Sarbanes-Oxley controls. Preparation and analysis of select operating and financial reports. Review employee travel expenses and reimbursement schedules on a weekly basis. Work with manager to complete on-going process reviews and deliver recommendations for improvements. Assist with maintenance of subledger and related activity for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and/or Asset Management. Work with manager to communicate forecast changes to Financial Analysis. Maintain appropriate internal control documentation, as applicable, and adheres to formally documented control procedures, to ensure on-going compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and to prevent any audit exceptions. Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date written instructions for all tasks/responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To qualify for an internship with Footlocker/Eastbay, individuals must:
-Be a junior or senior in college, or a Spring 2019 graduate -Arrange the internship with the educational institution on a for-credit basis, if necessary. -Schedule according to the following business hours: Summer internship hours are Monday-Friday (40 hours/week). Internships begin on June 3, 2019 and end August 23, 2019.
