Strategic Planning teams shape & drive the company's growth agenda by leading the strategy planning processes, aligning enterprise leadership to make our biggest opportunities a reality, and spearheading transformational projects across Converse's diverse businesses and geographies. Embedded in teams across the company, strategy professionals serve as critical thought partners to our senior leaders to explore complex business issues; conduct consumer, competitive and market analyses; create financial models and develop and ensure execution of action plans to galvanize our teams.

Converse is looking for a Director, Strategy for North America at our WHQ in Boston. This role is a key member of our North America leadership team. In this role, you will independently lead cross-functional project teams to identify and evaluate critical strategic priorities and/or strategic problems, and catalyze action against these priorities through strategic and long-range business planning and performance management.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the process of developing strategic initiatives and objectives for the current year and the 3-year Strategic plan for the North America business
  • Assume Chief of staff role for the North America GM, managing the leadership team's weekly, monthly , quarterly, and annual meetings, communications, and processes to ensure a high-performance team that is agile and able to quickly align against strategic priorities
  • Identify relevant measures and drive accountability for on-going performance against business and strategic objectives by preparing for and help to lead regular business reviews
  • Catalyze action by leading project work streams that turn strategic priorities and initiatives into executable plans
  • Lead quantitative and qualitative analytical work that unlocks business insights and drives sound decision making on key business issues
  • Develop and communicate strategic plans, scorecards and business solutions through high-impact, executive-level presentations


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 8-10 years' total experience (5 years' experience post-MBA) in corporate development, business development, corporate strategic planning, investment banking, management consulting, CPG brand management, finance or related fields
  • Two additional years' experience in lieu of an advanced degree
  • Previous management consulting experience at a top tier consulting firm is highly preferred
  • Strategy development experience with global-consumer enterprises (including internal and/or consulting) is highly preferred
  • Project Management: Ability to effectively plan and tightly manage the scope and lifecycle of a project while balancing multiple constituencies
  • Strategic Framing, Scoping and Problem Solving: Desire to get beyond the abstract and general to deliver rigorous, nuanced and actionable recommendations; Proven ability to deliver insightful data analysis & synthesis that uncovers consumer and market opportunities
  • Interpersonal/Influence: Ability to align senior leaders and key stakeholders across functions through excellent interpersonal skills, high EQ, and persuasion
  • Financial / Quantitative Analysis:Demonstrated ability to drive quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial models
  • Change Agent: Acts as a catalyst for change, helping Converse evolve and expand into new markets and channels, streamline through new processes, etc.
  • Communication: Create & communicate clear, concise & compelling stories (e.g., presentations, speeches) that transform big picture thinking into concrete actions that drive growth
  • Soft lines or consumer-focused industry experience and passion a must
