Assistant Director Student-Athlete Development & Compliance

This position incorporates the opportunity to cultivate experience, skills and abilities in two core areas of athletics, student-athlete well-being and compliance. The focus of the student-athlete development program is to foster and develop growth, perspective and competencies that advance a student's potential in all areas. This position presents an opportunity to develop and maintain a dynamic program that includes educational and leadership training, community outreach, SAAC , and conference initiatives. The compliance office plays an integral role in promoting a culture of integrity at Northeastern and the staff is empowered to lead that effort through education, communication and positive relationships. Duties include rules education, monitoring playing and practice season documentation, maintenance of required reports, forms and databases, and rule interpretations. Both roles provide a pathway to engage coaches, student-athletes and staff to build a robust career portfolio.


  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree or J.D. preferred;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in the student development and/or compliance area at an NCAA
    member institution, conference office, or NCAA national office). Equivalent experience may be considered;
  • Experience with SAAC and community outreach programing.
  • Experience with providing NCAA rules interpretations and presenting education sessions;
  • Experience with written correspondence, letters, and memos;
  • Experience with Compliance Assistant, NCAA , LSDBi and RSRO systems;
  • Experience with ARMS recruiting software system and Banner;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Publisher;
  • Position requires occasional travel; nights and weekends required as necessary.
