Position Description: Coordinator, Sponsorship Services (MLB International)

Position Overview: The primary responsibility of this position is to activate and service the MLB International Partners and support the MLBI sales team in their sales efforts.

  • Day to day management and execution of MLBI sponsorship deals, includes new media/digital and traditional media
  • Communicating daily with our partners and providing them with the best service possible
  • Communicating regularly & supporting our remote sales offices
  • Onsite activation for All-Star Week, Postseason and various events throughout the season
  • Responsibilities at onsite activations include: signage, video board, EVI, managing hospitality experiences, tickets - includes allocations & drops. Work closely with the venue, teams, agents, and internal deps to ensure all sponsor activations are fulfilled.
  • Preparing billing reporting and invoice requests for Finance
  • Setup digital campaigns with the Ad Ops team, verify tracking is in place (internal & 3rd party), monitor delivery, make optimizations
  • Report for all elements of campaigns using internal and external systems (.i.e. Wide Orbit, Tableau, Nielsen, Doubleclick, Adjuster, FreeWheel, Atlas, ect)
  • Work closely with 3 rd party vendor to traffic all EVI and work with broadcast partners on other elements
  • Campaign development and execution, includes heavy involvement with external agencies and internal departments within MLB including legal, design, social media, events, MLBN and technical production
  • Work closely with legal on agreements and review of promotional materials
  • Build out detailed recap decks during the campaign and at the conclusion
  • Track booked and working business for department
  • Keep all department research and resources organized and updated
  • Support the sales team on sales projects and tasks including development of lead sheets, sponsorship platforms and category one-sheeters
  • Support the sales team on research projects to identify new business prospects, sponsorship/category best practices, new asset opportunities
  • Proactively prospect and research accounts to drive new business and remain up to date on industry news
  • Assist in administrative tasks for sponsorship accounts and contribute to day-to-day department operations and management

Qualifications & Experience Required:
  • 4 year college degree
  • Bi-lingual in Japanese or Korean
  • Applicant must have a minimum of two (2) years of team, agency, league, event or other relevant sponsorship activation experience
  • Must have working knowledge of new media/digital & traditional ad marketplace
  • Working knowledge of how to read and build digital media plans
  • Experience with Wide Orbit, Doubleclick, Adjuster, FreeWheel, MOAT
  • Mandatory computer skills and strong social media skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Photoshop
    • Must have advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills as work with these two programs will be heavy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Event or game day experience managing various client activations
  • Ability to stay calm and work through challenges in a high paced environment
  • Self-motivated and ability to prioritize and manage work flow and efficiently multi-task on important projects
  • Willing and able to travel as needed
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment and form strong internal and external relationships with colleagues, clients, agencies, brands, teams and leagues
  • Must maintain a positive attitude, professionalism, integrity, motivation and a strong work ethic
