Job Description
The Assistant Director serves as a Compliance Officer for the compliance team and reports to the Sr. Director of Compliance and Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. This position works in conjunction with the Compliance Office staff to implement NCAA, SEC and University of Tennessee rules and regulations. The Compliance Officer provides interpretations of NCAA and SEC legislation to coaches, administrators, student-athletes and boosters as needed and also serves as a liaison between the Compliance Office and coaching staffs, sport administrators and other University entities.

Serve as Bylaw Practitioner for NCAA Bylaw 15 (Financial Aid): Monitor and document legislative requirements and procedural matters related to NCAA Bylaw 15 for all sports including, but not limited to:

Athletically related financial aid *NCAA Student Assistance Fund (SAF) *Outside grant/scholarship certification *Preparation and validation of National Letter of Intent (NLI), SEC Financial Aid Agreement (SECFAA) and/or Institutional Financial Aid Agreement (IFAA) signings - Scholarship check disbursement *Scholarship renewals/non-renewals/reductions *Textbook distribution - Assist with interpretive inquiries of *NCAA and SEC legislation and University policies related to NCAA Bylaw 15 *Assist with NCAA and SEC waiver requests related to NCAA Bylaw 15 *Assist with processing of NCAA Level III violations related to NCAA Bylaw 15 Serve as Bylaw Practitioner for NCAA Bylaw 16 (Awards, Benefits and Expenses): Monitor and document legislative requirements and procedural matters related to NCAA Bylaw 16 for all sports including, but not limited to:

*Student-athlete complimentary admissions *Student-athlete awards *Student-athlete meals and per diem *Team travel requisitions *Vacation period expenses *Assist with interpretive inquiries of NCAA and SEC legislation and University policies related to NCAA Bylaw 16 *Assist with NCAA and SEC waiver requests related to NCAA Bylaw 16 *Assist with processing of NCAA Level III violations related to NCAA Bylaw 16 Serve as Sport Facilitator for Men's Golf, Women's Golf and Rowing, and Administrative Facilitator for Business & Internal Affairs, Financial Aid / Bursar, Housing, the Spirit Squad, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Ticket Office:

Respond to interpretive inquiries of NCAA and SEC legislation and University policies related to Sport and Administrative Facilitator assignments. Prepare and submit NCAA and SEC waiver requests related to Sport and Administrative Facilitator assignments including athletics activity waivers, extension of eligibility waivers, hardship waivers, initial-eligibility waivers, legislative relief waivers, progress-toward-degree waivers, and season of competition/participation waivers. Investigate and file NCAA Level III violations related to Sport and Administrative Facilitator assignments. Process student-athlete reinstatement requests related to Sport and Administrative Facilitator assignments. Conduct and document rules education meetings with coaches, staff members and student-athletes for Sport and Administrative Facilitator assignments. Conduct and document Beginning and End of the Year team meetings related to Sport Facilitator assignments. Assist with operation of player-guest and prospective student-athlete ticket lists as determined by the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. Assist with preparation and submission of annual NCAA Sport Sponsorship and Demographic Forms. Represent the Compliance Office on the Eligibility Committee and Compliance Review Committee. Assist the S.W.A. with Title IX roster management.

Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Sport Administration, MBA or related field may be substituted. Division I FBS Compliance Program. A minimum of 1-3 years in NCAA administration or compliance. A strong understanding of the rules and regulations associated with the NCAA and SEC programs. Experience working efficiently with student-athletes, coaches and officials regarding compliance issues. Working knowledge of CAi, LSDBi and the NCAA Eligibility Center. Experience using ACS or other compliance software preferred. Significant working knowledge of the rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA and SEC. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong computer skills. Ability to multi-task and effectively balance multiple situations and prioritize multiple tasks and projects according to the severity and importance.

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of JumpForward and Banner. Experience with NCAA Bylaws 15 (Financial Aid) and 16 (Awards, Benefits and Expenses).
