Description

As Director, Los Angeles Nike Direct Merchandising, you will build assortments across Nike Direct channels to deliver on merchandising strategy and distinctive product direction across Gender, Consumer Mindsets, Product Type and Category. You will focus on the consumer, delivering curated, productive, profitable and digitally connected assortments across the Nike Direct marketplace. You will drive the one team philosophy through partnership with the Global and Geo cross functional teams.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Create and maintain member led channel assortments for Nike Direct
  • Adopt and collaborate on the Must Have Product Offering with Global and Geography Merchandising partners
  • Build and deliver the Los Angeles Nike Direct consumer led capacity in partnership with Geo Category and Marketplace Merchandising, Planning and Analytics

Key Deliverables include:

  • Build product assortments aligned with the strategy and vision for Nike Direct in collaboration with Geography localization
  • Deliver on adoption targets for the Must Have Product Offering with Global and Geography Merchandising partners
  • Deliver Geo product direction with the Brand team to tell deeper stories and ensure localization needs are delivered
  • Read and react to in season analytics and identify opportunities to adapt current business and inform future assortments, merchandising strategies and strategic initiatives driven by member mindsets
  • Deliver consumer and product insights 4x a year to Geo/ND Merchandising
  • Ensure assortments support financial targets in partnership with Los Angles Nike Direct Planning and Analytics
  • Deliver and participate in the key corporate gates and gameplan deliverables


Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree or additional 2 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • At least 10 years' experience in merchandising, product creation, and or retail, in a vertical, digital, or wholesale environment
  • Footwear, apparel and/or equipment merchandising experience
  • Proficiency in retail and profit based metrics
  • Assortment planning experience
  • A keen understanding of the Nike consumer and LA marketplace
  • An ability to employ retail acumen and proven storytelling capabilities
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • An ability to respond with speed and agility
  • Candidate must be willing to travel 10-20% of the time
