While Basketball Operations runs the league's on-court activities, other departments manage relationships with television and digital media partners, develop marketing partnerships with some of the world's most recognizable companies, oversee the licensing of NBA merchandise, and handle a wide range of responsibilities that drive the NBA's success.

Position Summary:

Key member of business development team responsible for generating revenue through sales of integrated marketing & media platforms for the NBA, WNBA, G League, USA Basketball and NBA 2K League.

Major Responsibilies:

  • Responsible for generating revenue through sales of integrated marketing & media platforms for the NBA, WNBA, G League, USA Basketball and NBA 2K League
  • Ability to excel at prospect identification, outreach, pitch ideation and proposal development

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Identify sales prospects and key company contacts for potential sponsorship across portfolio of leagues
  • Research companies and company executives for points of entry
  • Work with Associate Vice President and other team members to aggressively pursue prospects through initial contact strategy, development and delivery of sales presentations, negotiation and contract execution
  • Establish and build relationships with key external contacts (e.g., corporate decision makers at Fortune 500 companies and influencers in the sports marketing and agency world)
  • Coordinate with appropriate internal resources to develop customized programs for prospects (e.g., Media, NBA Cares, PR, Events)
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Global Media and Partnership Development throughout sales funnel
  • Align with various groups in Global Partnerships such as Partnership Management, Activation, Retail Development to bring best ideas to market
  • Understanding of marketing and branding to develop customized and impactful proposals and secure new partnerships that meet the pre-determined marketing needs of the partner
  • Team player who can navigate internally in an affable manner and present to clients top-notch marketing programs
  • Ability to effectively identify prospective corporate partners
  • Ability to develop and write thoughtful, customized corporate presentations and partnership proposals
  • Willingness and aptitude for managing up and sideways in a matrix organization
  • Be an example for positive corporate culture and a willing mentor
  • 3 to 5 years sales/business development, marketing experience
  • Background in new business development / sales
  • Previous revenue responsibility
  • Familiarity with sports/entertainment sponsorship programs


  • Bachelor's Degree required
