Job Description
JOB FUNCTION: Assist with the overall administration of NCAA athletic teams, club sports, recreation and promotion of student athlete and success with a key focus on recruitment and retention. ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

1.Proven leadership ability in a large, successful, competitive athletic department 2.Develop strategies to promote student athlete success, including but not limited to retention, academic college readiness, stress management and wellness 3.Coordinate and execute all professional development programming for staff and students concerning student athlete welfare and success 4.Demonstrable commitment to collaboration, understanding the mutually beneficial impact of partnering with other departments on broader, college-wide initiatives, including those related to student recruitment and retention 5.Provide leadership for ongoing departmental assessment efforts, focusing on the experience of student athletes and teams 6.Serve as sport administrator for numerous varsity programs, including supervision of selected coaches and programs 7.Work with coaches to develop aspirational professional and personal goals, successfully administer sport operating and capital budgets and develop recruitment strategies 8.Oversee NCAA compliance and rules education for all student athletes and coaches 9.Assist with the completion of the mandatory NCAA and MAC reports such as EADA, NCAA Sport Sponsorship and Demographics, Academic, Graduation and Financial Aid reports 10.Lead high-level departmental initiatives that support collegiate strategic planning objectives for Athletics and Recreation 11.Supervise coordinators of the Intermetro Wellness Center and Intramural programs 12.Serve as Tournament Director for select MAC and NCAA Championships 13.Assist with all internal special events (non-competition) 14.Perform additional duties as assigned, fully aware that duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time (with or without notice)

15.Possess strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks 16.Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed

OTHER ELEMENTS:

1.Literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office( Word, Excel, Power Point), the Internet and email 2.Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for several hours at a time

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (minimum credential), Master's Degree preferred
2. Three to four years of experience in Athletic Administration preferred
3. A proven record of working productively with college aged student athletes
4. Unqualified background check (clearance)
5. Valid United States Driver's License and clear driving record report.
