Trainee Stores Operative

Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and packing / despatch of stock
  • Supplying the build team with accurate kits and consumables
  • Control of CoSHH items (Full training given)
  • Supply and control of PPE to the build team
  • Stock taking and accurate stock control on the company's systems
  • Organisation of storage areas
  • Unloading / loading of incoming and outgoing stock (typically on to 7.5tn - artic lorries)
  • Using forklifts and pallet trucks to move large items (Full training can be given)
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of working areas
  • Supporting the build team and other team members when required
  • Following all health and safety guidelines
  • Assistance with case build and packing down of cases
  • Occasionally delivering urgent components to site

Skills & Requirements

Essential:

  • Able to understand, interpret and follow operating procedures
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good maths skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Team player
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Good knowledge of IT applications (Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Driving license
  • Willing to undertake training programmes

Desirable:

  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck license (Full training will be given if not)
  • Experience with stock control software
  • Trained First Aider (Full training can be given)
  • Willingness to travel
