Job Description We are seeking a microbiologist to work on antibiotic discovery and characterization. The successful applicant will join a team of talented researchers at the Antimicrobial Discovery Center. The specific project is to identify additional members of the darobactin class of compounds (Imai et al., Nature 2019; Hundeep et al., Nature 2021), and identify a lead for development into a drug. The project will involve creating a large library of compounds by manipulating the biosynthetic operon, and screening it for production and activity using a single-cell approach.
The appointment will be for a minimum of 2 years with possible extension. Highly competitive salary, and a package of benefits.
