Posted on Jun 6, 2022 by JM-USDA Human Nutrition Research Center
The Obesity and Metabolism Laboratory at Tufts University in Boston, MA is actively recruiting for a postdoctoral fellow(s) this summer, fall 2022/winter 2023 . The laboratory focuses on the causes and the metabolic consequences of obesity including diabetes and other diseases. Several ongoing studies which are unpublished focus on the role of specific genes and proteins that have been found to regulate thermogenesis, obesity, and metabolic complications.
Research projects utilize a variety of approaches including investigating adipocyte, liver, macrophage, and intestine metabolism, various cell culture models, and novel generated mouse models in which specific genes have genetically ablated to define their function in tissue specific and whole-body physiology. and metabolism. Experience and/or interest in related biology, metabolism and physiology would be helpful. The lab uses a combination of cutting edge molecular biological, cell biological, gene expression, RNA seq and single cell RNA seq, FACS analysis, systemic and lipidomic/metabolomic approaches in combination with cellular and systemic energy expenditure and other whole body physiological studies to address research questions. Dr. Greenberg is also co -Director of NIH funded Boston Nutrition Obesity Research Center which provides seminars and cores that provides cutting services. If interested as a first step forward a cover letter and CV to .
