HEALTH QUEST IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER. Responsibilities The AVP of Laboratory Operations plans, directs, oversees and evaluates all aspects of Health-Quest Laboratory Services. The positions is responsible for development and implementation of strategic and innovative processes, and operational plans, specifically on outreach laboratory services that address patient and physician need, quality, safety, service excellence, access and growth, changing technology, financial performance, human resources and information management. The AVP, Laboratory Operations works collaboratively with the Medical Director to assure proper functioning of all Laboratory and Pathology services. Span of Control: Medical Director of Pathology Services, Director of Laboratory Outreach, Pathology vendor staff and all Health-Quest Laboratory employees. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Assumes responsibility for the administrative operation of Health-Quest Laboratory and Pathology services to ensure that departments meet the needs of patients, physicians and overall laboratory staff. 2. Responsible for the strategic and annual operating plan for the Health-Quest laboratory service line. 3. Reviews with appropriate management and supervisory staff written requirements and compliance needs with respect to Joint Commission (JCAHO), Department of Health (DOH), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), CAP, etc. 4. Oversees the development of projections used to model the financial impact of proposed programs and capital projects; support and reinforce efforts of executive team to sustain results from program and project implementation. 5. Oversees all aspects of the budgeting process which includes: establish budget calendar with milestones, develop statistical data (days, cases, LOS, O/P visits, O/P procedures, etc.) to project revenues and expenses, consistent with the strategic plans of the organization. 6. Oversees day-to-day operations within span of control, resolving problems as necessary, and ensuring that operations are efficient, compliant, safe, and of the highest possible quality. Optimize management structures and workflows within span of control to continually improve quality and efficiency. 7. Establishes annual goals and measures of performance for functions within the span of control, including key financial metrics. 8. Optimize financial performance within span of control. Review financial performance of all departments. Identify trends, variances, and opportunities. Act promptly to address problems and exploit opportunities. Participate in budget development by providing analysis, projections, and budget recommendations. 9. Comply with all Health Quest and affiliate policies and ensure compliance with all applicable law and regulation. 10. Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education in all areas pertinent to positions responsibilities. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: * Master's degree in Business or related field. * Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent experience. * Minimum of ten (10) years of laboratory management experience. * Experience in starting laboratory outreach business unit and maintaining growth trajectory. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements: * Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and management staff. * Master's degree in Business or related field. * Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent experience. * Minimum of ten (10) years of laboratory management experience. * Experience in starting laboratory outreach business unit and maintaining growth trajectory.
