The goal is to elevate the impact of marketing by working with business unit leaders and their marketing teams to develop measurement, data, analytics and testing strategies that will: * Lead global market insight programs * Leverage marketing & sales data insights to drive growth * Deliver global insight to stakeholders in formats that support the BU requirements * Deliver global marketing performance dashboards This position is both consultative and collaborative and will require interaction with senior leadership in Strategy, IT, Marketing, Product Development, and our field organizations. This individual will: * Have a deep understanding of the business unit products, services, channels and key audiences (e.g. customers and influencers) * Provide the data analytics expertise to engage business leaders and marketers with the development of an integrated marketing plan * Support the adoption and use of standard tools and process (e.g. creative brief) * Expand the use of marketing data analytics to improve reach, awareness and consideration. * Improve the quality and impact of data, creating measurements and relevant reporting strategies. * Ensure marketing data analytics efforts are structured so they can be measured. How you will do it * Frame up and drive complex business problems and develop/deliver the best analysis/solutions to meet organizational objectives. Come up with a convincing and easy to understand business rationale and financial justification relative to each opportunity. Key metrics will be revenue generation, lead generation, cost reduction, and time reduction. * Develop and implement strategies to optimize business processes, and continuously identify new opportunities to leverage analytics to improve our ongoing operations and to develop new products, services, and other revenue drivers. * Uses knowledge of business and data to discover and/or anticipate problems and opportunities where data can be leveraged to address the need. * Plan and implement an overall analytics and business intelligence strategy with a strong focus on data identification, collection, analysis, and reporting. * Collaborate with cross-departmental teams (Membership, Marketing and Communications, Business Development and IT) to develop a cohesive and comprehensive understanding of our key business drivers. * Lead the design and implementation of analytical projects and ensure that these solutions align with JCI's strategic direction and meet desired performance metrics. * Applies data aggregation, descriptive analysis and data presentation techniques and tools to communicate complex findings and recommendations to influence others to take action. * Assesses and develops operational activities to lead internal partners through continuous improvement / transformation efforts. * Build credibility, establish rapport, and maintain communication with executive leadership across all BT&S businesses. Interacts with senior management levels which involves negotiating or influencing on significant matters. * Develop prototypes, proof of concepts, algorithms, predictive models, and custom analysis. * Seek out opportunities for new data acquisition that support JCI goals, solidify terms and facilitate proper collection, storage, and management of new data. * Work with IT and other departments to ensure systems, integration and procedures enable achievement of JCI strategic goals. * Involved in setting strategic direction and establishing near term goals for Global Offerings. * Has latitude in decision-making and determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. * Manages large teams and/or work efforts through both direct and dotted-line reporting relationships. * Leads a team that applies data visualization, descriptive and summary statistical techniques for discovery and timely insights (data exploration, ad-hoc queries, and analysis). Owns and manages data visualization projects. * Demonstrates ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information to a variety of audiences. * May contribute to the development of policies and procedures. * May act as a mentor to colleagues. What we look for * Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience; MBA or related MA degree is desirable. * 11+ years' experience in Marketing strategy and analytics or comparable * Ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level when it comes to capability, process and information technology analysis, design and development. * Experience in sales and delivery of building efficiency products and services is preferred. * Strong critical thinking skills. A good combination of creativity and business acumen. * Experience with data query, visualization, dashboard and/or scorecard tools. * Experience with working with databases/data warehouse. Able to keep up to date with industry best practice, tools, and technology. * Experience or expertise with various analytics tools a plus, such as Tableau, QlikView, SPSS Modeler, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server Packages, etc. * Strong understanding of business intelligence and data analytics concepts with a proven ability to apply these concepts to generate revenue and reduce costs (e.g., developing products, acquiring or selling data, etc.). * Deep and extensive analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to generate ideas and distill complex data and business issues into reports, publications and presentations for both technical and nontechnical audiences. * Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to synthesize insights to support decision-making at all levels of the organization. * Proven excellence in program management and an ability to effectively manage multiple cross-functional projects/priorities. * Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships inside and outside the organization with stakeholders, customers and colleagues * Adept at framing business questions and practices in analytic terms, and translating business requirements into corresponding datasets, analyses, reports, and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences. * Ability to perform high-level work both independently and collaboratively as a project team leader or member. * Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience; MBA or related MA degree is desirable. * 11+ years' experience in Marketing strategy and analytics or comparable * Ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level when it comes to capability, process and information technology analysis, design and development. * Experience in sales and delivery of building efficiency products and services is preferred. * Strong critical thinking skills.
