Establishes and monitors results-producing relationships with referring physicians, case managers, social workers and payers. Educates team members and referral sources about BIR physical medicine and rehabilitation service capabilities, rehabilitation industry changes, specific hospital clinical programs, clinical outcomes and appropriate patient referrals/admissions. Provides leadership and oversight to the clinical liaison team as well as the admissions team. This position will report directly to BIR's CEO. Qualifications Specific Duties * Provides leadership and direction to all aspects of the Business Development/Marketing department. * Develops both short and long term plans to accomplish departmental objectives/goals. * Partners with the hospital CEO and Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) to develop and execute quarterly marketing plans and actions that ensure established targets are achieved. * Collaborates with internal physicians and CEOs to develop strategic initiatives that drive new business. Works closely with the internal physicians and CEOs to help resolve barriers for admissions and/or business opportunities. * Supports the pre-admissions function to assure that the rehabilitation hospital is responsive to the needs of the referring hospital, referral sources and patients. * Directs and mentors direct reports and works collaboratively to hire and support the Nurse Liaison team and holds them accountable to develop relationships with key referrers at assigned hospital that translate into admissions. * In conjunction with the Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO), ensures effective communication and coordination between Nurse Liaisons, Sales Coordinators and the Admissions Department. * Builds relationships with referring physicians, case managers, therapists, administrators and nurses to increase awareness of services and promote business opportunities. Maintains database of key referral sources. * Arranges meetings with referring physicians and helps to bridge relationships with internal physicians and clinicians to ensure a quality continuum of care and to identify business opportunities. * Establishes a quarterly calendar of events and marketing campaigns, Brown Bag Breakfasts etc. * Coordinates and promotes special events as necessary such as focus groups, round tables, CEU presentations, etc. * Maintains monthly statistics and monitors and analyzes trends, opportunities and barriers. Utilizes data effectively in business development strategies and actions. * Helps develop new business opportunities in new and existing markets. * Provides input into the development of direct marketing and collaterals in conjunction with the AVP of Communications. Minimum Education & Experience (Including Licenses) * 1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field or commensurate experience required. Master's Degree preferred. * 2. Minimum of five years progressive experience in healthcare and/or sales and marketing experience required. * 3. Knowledge of managed care and physical rehabilitation required. 4. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. * 5. Ability to analyze business development opportunities and work in a self directed environment. * 6. Ability to work collaboratively with members of the marketing and clinical liaison teams to achieve established referral goals. * 7. Professional sales skills required. * 8. Current State Driver's License in good standing required.
