For more details, visit us at or follow us on Twitter Description * ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: + Manages, selects, evaluates, and performs due diligence and negotiation for all licensing activities related to new business opportunities, markets, and technologies for business and product development; + Leads and/or supports negotiations for collaborations with third-parties and High Burden Developing Country activities; + Leads and/or supports the negotiation of distribution agreements worldwide; + Implements distribution and licensing agreements, coordinating with partner as well as internal cross-functional Cepheid resources + Performs economic analyses of new opportunities in order to facilitate executive management review and decision-making; + Conducts market assessments, asset valuations, and intellectual property analyses of potential target opportunities; + Leads and/or supports contract negotiations with external parties with regard to licenses and partnerships; + Collaborates with the legal department to prepare term sheets, non-disclosure agreements, and contracts with regard to external deals; + Provides thought leadership on current market and technology trends; + Prepares and delivers presentations to both internal and external partners relative to business development strategies; Qualifications * MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education or Experience (in years): + Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related work experience ORMaster's degree in field with 8+ years of related work experience ORDoctoral degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience. Knowledge and skills: + Ability to apply critical/strategic thinking to each opportunity required; + Extensive experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry + Must have global experience in Partnerships and Business Development + Extensive experience managing alliances and negotiating licensing and collaboration agreements required. + Previous experience with M&A management an asset; + Must possess a strong knowledge of product development, regulatory and clinical affairs; + A demonstrated ability to establish working relationships with key opinion leaders and other relevant external influencers required; + Must possess the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all internal and external partners and stakeholders.
