The Chief Security Architect is primarily responsibility for Cray's product and services security architecture and for guiding the implementation of the same. The Chief Security Architect is also responsible for providing expert security guidance in shaping Cray's product security policies and architecture. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge and experience at developing technical cybersecurity understanding, concepts, and vision, authoring and implementing technical cybersecurity strategies across systems, and ensuring technical aspects of cybersecurity are integrated throughout system development life. This individual should also be well-versed in common IT system threats, effective countermeasures, and commercial best practice tools and techniques. Primary duties and responsibilities: · Develop and maintain a security policy and security architecture that fits customer and market needs. · Closely collaborate with the engineering team and drive key design choices made in the implementation of the product on a day-to-day basis. · Work closely with the product management team, and drive the technology & architectural aspects of the product roadmap. · Align the product with industry security standards, compliance requirements and certifications for the markets chosen by product management. · Evaluate new security protocols & technologies, and understand how to seamlessly integrate them into the product. · Grow the software development teams' security awareness and capability. · Maintain a high level of expertise in industry trends and technologies related to cyber security. · Author industry-specific whitepapers and case studies. · Present authored works at tradeshows and conferences. · Assess customer requirements and issues, determine solution gaps, and provide optimized solutions. · Contribute to product specifications, requirements, and literature. Requirements Requirements · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field/ discipline or equivalent experience and skill-level. · Extensive experience (10 years +) in multiple disciplines across the security domain · Possesses or have the ability to possess a government security clearance · One or more of the following certifications: CISSP, SSCP, CCSP, CISM. Other industry certifications will be taken into consideration. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Knowledge of High Performance Computing or related technical field. · Ability to engage in deep technical discussions with customer experts. · Easily establishes credibility as a trusted advisor to stakeholders including customers, executives, and senior technical leaders. · Possesses experience working with senior leadership who have excellent communication skills. · Experience managing the implementation or enhancement of security controls across a diverse system. · Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop innovative risk mitigation solutions that address core issues while optimizing cost and time. · Well-versed in enterprise risk assessment methodologies. · Exceptional understanding of security vulnerabilities and common software engineering flaws. · Exceptional document authoring experience · Experience with system accreditation using NIST, DoD, or ISO 27000 methods. · Experience in a highly regulated industry requiring protection of sensitive information. · Cloud security experience and experience is desirable.
