Purpose and Scope This position is responsible for customer service, master and detailed plant scheduling, ordering and component planning and inventory optimization for packaged bearings. Goals are to insure on time customer deliveries with cost effective production and efficient use of capital. Responsibilities include expert use of SAP tool set, continuous improvement to business processes, and metrics generation and evaluation. Responsibilities 1) Create and maintain efficient and executable schedules for package bearing lines at Lincolnton plant. This includes understanding line capacities, manning schedules, line sequencing, lot size parameters, using SAP to level schedules, and working closely with customer service and manufacturing to adjust for customer or manufacturing needs. 2) Evaluate component needs and execute PO's to meet all packaged bearing production needs. This includes follow up on outstanding orders, expediting, delivery coordination and plant interface to the supplier. 3) Perform customer service functions evaluate EDI, input to forecast process, expedites, shipping/logistics coordination, primary interface to customer. 4) Develop inventory targets and forecasts, review and maintain safety stock levels. 5) Evaluate dunnage needs, coordinate customer returns, insure adequate dunnage inventory 6) Manage SAP settings for scheduling, purchasing, inventory, customer shipping things such as lead times, lot sizes, queue times, calendars, buffer offsets, shipping schedules, transit times. 7) Create, maintain and evaluate metrics to define gaps and develop solutions to close. Lead cross functional performance meetings to review, align and prioritize actions needed. 8) Review and continuously improve business processes in line with standard SAP practices. Job Requirements: Technical/Functional Skills Ability to take initiative, work independently to manage problems, and drive improved business processes. Strong communication and team skills able to work with cross functional departments across the organization, with customers and external suppliers. Ability to query, manage, evaluate data, create reports, draw conclusions and recommend needed actions. Good root cause problem solving skills. SAP experience required. Proficient with Excel, Access, MS Office Education Associate Degree in Business or Supply Chain with 10 years related work experience or Bachelor Degree in Business or Supply Chain with 5 years related work experience Previous Job Experience Minimum of 5 years related job experience All qualified applicants shall be treated equally according to their individual qualifications, abilities, experiences and other employment standards.
