UI/UX Developer, CRM - University Information Services

University Information Services (UIS) provides Georgetown University with the core technology resources and support services for teaching, learning, and research.

The UI/UX Developer plays a critical role in UIS by working on large scale, enterprise-level projects that drive the development of efficient business processes while also working to integrate technologies that support multiple stakeholders. S/he utilizes modular architectures, next-generation integration techniques and a cloud-first mindset to provide vision to the CRM team and its users. Reporting to the CRM Technical Director, the UI/UX Developer has duties that include but are not limited to:


  • Works with the Salesforce Lightning Design System and the CRM development team to provide modular interface solutions to users of the GU360 CRM.
  • Documents solutions and business requirements to ensure that users' needs are met and that code deployment is handled responsibly.
  • Manages development of test and implementation plans and change management plans; and participates in development of training materials.

CRM Improvements

  • Evaluates the regularly scheduled enhancements to the Salesforce platform for potential improvements to the existing GU360 CRM project
  • Facilitates discussions, requirements, analysis of and alternative; and manages a decision-making process around product selection with an eye toward maintaining a robust and unified information technology infrastructure.
  • Assists in the maintenance of Lightning Community sites

Collateral Duties

  • Documents clear requirements, testing for programming/development.
  • Keeps informed of new technologies or application methodologies through publications, membership in professional organizations and contact with other IT organizations and institutions.
  • Supports the development operations structure and change control/audit needs of the CRM team.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of professional experience with Salesforce development, implementation and solution design and/or three years of professional development experience with JavaScript
  • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Understanding of higher education needs and environment
  • Strong project/personnel management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a team and or leading in a team environment

Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification Requirements

  • Professional development experience with JavaScript, CSS, XML, JSON, HTML5
  • Database management, ability to learn new software, research and writing skills, comprehension of project management methodology
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming
  • Ability to manage application development projects where stakeholders represent functional offices, as well as technology deployment projects where stakeholders are internal IT staff
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the UIS and across the University
  • Solid ability to gather, organize and analyze data in the completion of assignments
  • A commitment to service and quality, and the ability to integrate these concepts into the School culture
