Our client is growing and needs to add another Manufacturing Engineer to their staff. They are best known for making hydraulic components and systems. Responsibilities:

* Create and develop manufacturing system concepts to fulfill business needs.
* Work with design engineers and production to quote, specify, program, order, debug, receive, install, and new production equipment.
* Support the new product development process through PFMEA and DFM activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met.
* Document procedures, processes, and best practices to support the new equipment.
* Demonstrate your technical expertise in project management including, but not limited to; scheduling, tracking, team assignments, allocation of resources, status reports, facilitate effective problem solving, and promoting new and innovative concepts.
* Technical resource for specific manufacturing methods and/or philosophies.
* Work closely with mechanical and program engineers to design and repair assembly and testing processes.
* Assist in identification of areas for improvement, documentation and operator training.
* Lead prototype, pilot, and SOP builds by ensuring appropriate resources are available to meet quality, delivery, and performance criteria.
* Log/Record/Analyze data to provide capability of processes/components/tests for each build and identify areas for improvement to ensure acceptable production process.
* Challenges the status quo, and drives to consistently improve productivity and efficiency through creative thinking and industry research.
* Work with advanced engineering and equipment suppliers to determine designs and configurations for new equipment and upgrades.
* Preparation of financial analysis for capital expenditures for tooling and equipment needed in support of existing product lines or processes.
* Monitor and control all phases of new equipment construction from design approval though implementation on factory floor and control equipment costs during this process.
* Utilize automation background and problem solving skills to design, modify and debug existing and new equipment (production and engineering lab).
* Determine root cause of equipment problems and improve process performance.
* Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, automation, software, and hydraulic systems.
* Work with production employees to continually improve production operations, system maintenance and design concepts.
* Interface between Design, Production, Purchasing, and Quality to ensure designs are acceptable for manufacturing (GD&T understanding, print reviews, capability studies, inspection method/process/capability).
* Work with peers and other support personnel with specifics to training on production equipment, problem solving, and preventive maintenance.

Requirements:

* Bachelors degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering is required.
* At least a Co-op or internship experienceworking in an organization that has successfully used one or more continuous improvement methodologies is required.
* Knowledge or experience in cellular manufacturing, self-directed work teams, 5S, pull systems, mistake proofing, SMED, Kaizen, change management, ergonomics, and TQM.
* Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
* Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical machining equipment.
* Abilityto read blueprints, wiring diagrams,schematics, and capable of setting up and monitoring preventive maintenance systems.Also capable of troubleshooting and performing minor repairs to equipment.
* Effective problem solving, judgment, and independent thinking skills.
* Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other functional areas.
