Job Description:

The Aging and Health (AGH) Academic Minor Program at UMass Dartmouth seeks a part time lecturer (PTL) starting September 1, 2018 to teach one section of AGH 311 Topics in Aging and Health. The specific topic is open yet would need approval by the Director of the Program. Sample topics include, but are not limited to, Mental Health and Aging, Social Issues in Aging, Neuropsychology and Aging, and others. In addition, the program is establishing a pool of potential instructors for the future, though this present position is for one semester only. Successful applicants must be available to teach in the day and evening, as needed.


Qualified applicants will have a minimum of a PhD in an applied field (e.g., gerontology, psychology, sociology, human development, social work, nursing, policy, disability studies, and related fields) and teaching experience with documented proficiency. Candidates who are actively completing their dissertation who are ABD (all but dissertation) will be considered.

Preferred candidates will have evidence of teaching effectiveness in undergraduate courses on aging, gerontology, and/or health.
