Euroforest is the largest independent timber harvesting & marketing company in the UK. We harvest and market in excess of 2.1 million m³ of timber per annum. We have a vacancy for a Compliance Manager, based in our Head Office in Carlisle. This post will have a specific responsibility with respect to our subsidiary companies Pryor and Rickett and Euroforest Ireland. The role reports to the Head of Compliance who is based in the group's Head Office in Carlisle.
The role of the Compliance Office is to provide support to the Euroforest Group in developing a positive culture around health, safety and the environment; maintaining structures and procedures which protect individuals and the group of businesses in discharging their duties.
The nature of the work requires a mix of proactive and reactive working styles, combining planned interventions with responsive problem solving.
The role will require travel throughout GB and Ireland and necessitate several overnight stays each month. A vehicle is provided and the company promotes a move towards carbon reduction, supporting the use of fully electric or PHEV options.
• Field Support to Euroforest Group
o Giving advice on health, safety and environmental issues
o Assisting in the planning of contract operations and reacting appropriately in response to any operational issues as they occur
o Providing advice on solutions and mitigative controls
o Be prepared to take a lead role in the investigation of accidents and incidents, establishing cause and identifying learning outcomes
• System Administration
o Maintain and develop processes and procedures relating to Health Safety and Environment
o Develop KPI Reports, Board Reports and Near-Miss and Accidents and Corrective Action Reports
o Review and maintenance of support systems such as Harvesting Manager, FM Pro, iAuditor, Trackplot and EdApp
• Euroforest Ireland
o Work with the team in Ireland to develop systems and processes to suit their needs and to align with the general provisions of Euroforest UK and the Irish Forestry Safety Guidance, developing a positive relationship with the HAS and Coillte
• Pryor and Rickett
o Provide advice and support to the Pryor and Rickett Management Board
o Review processes and procedures to ensure health and safety management systems are fit for purpose
o Working with the Certification Manager to ensure that the ISO standards remain central
