Our client, one of the biggest Pharma companies in the world is looking for a Technical Writer with good understanding of documentation as code practices.

We are looking for someone who is eligible to work in the EU. This can be a 100% remote opportunity.

Tasks & Responsibilities

- Proactively and independently collaborate with members of various teams comprising subject matter experts in informatics development, life science research, and IT architecture to produce audience and reader-relevant content in scrum sprints.

- Develop and maintain content in AsciiDoc format in line with a documentation-as-code framework.

- Engage regularly and effectively with system and content owners to refine requirements, phrased as user stories, and align content-related expectations.

- Write and continuously update system, application and other technical content according to customer/project requirements and timelines.

- Ensure high-quality content or documentation contributions to one or several document repositories.

- Represent and ensure documentation compliance to established processes, standards and styles.

Must Haves:

- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline; or Bachelor's Degree in journalism or communication with a focus on or experience in technology and information or natural sciences

- At least 3 years' experience as a professional technical writer

- Fluent in English and strong command of the language, including proper use of spelling, grammar, and typical technical writing standards

- Acquaintance with pharmaceutical research or similar in the life sciences industry

- Customer-focused and motivated to collaborate with authors and other project team contributors to create audience-relevant content, organize reviews, compile input and corrections, identify logical inconsistencies, and provide final publishable documentation

- Understands technical processes and communicates them well to others, so that scientific and technical ideas and processes are understandable to readers in various, possibly less technical but highly skilled fields of expertise

- Good understanding of documentation-as-code practices (in Git) or willingness to quickly learn and adapt

- Experience, enthusiasm or willingness to learn quickly and produce final content in AsciiDoc markup language (markdown)

- Project-based work experience in the pharmaceutical industry

- Experience in the Google Productivity Suite (Google Docs, Drive, Sheets) and its metadata and version control feature

Nice to have:

- Competent use of templates in both narrative and graphic content

- Competent use of storyboards for drafting

- Experience in projects using Agile methodology, the Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence) and Git issues; able to act as scrum master

- Enthusiasm about technology and innovation to support delivering treatments to patients

- Contributes to discussions aimed at the continuous improvement of processes and guidelines

- Experience with markdown editors, Git, Jira, Antora, HTML

- Ability to train and coach others
