Senior Sustainability Consultant (BREEAM In Use)

Lewis Davey is recruiting for a Senior Sustainability Consultant with a focus of BREEAM In Use to join a leading global consultancy. As Senior Sustainability Consultant, you will lead a new dedicated Green Building Certification delivery team with a specific focus on BREEAM In-Use. An opportunity to work with high profile clients, this role offers progression both professionally and personally within the industry. An opportunity to work with cutting edge clients and meet their ESG goals and deliver technical certification across European property portfolios.


· Working in conjunction with delivery teams as the Service Line Deputy under the direction of the Green Building Certification Service Line Lead.

· Development and improvement of the service line ensuring maximum value is delivered to clients whilst streamlining current processes.

· Working with the marketing team, supporting in developing an ongoing marketing strategy.

· Supporting new business opportunities including attending pitches, prospective client meetings and writing proposals.

· Delivering relevant training to both internal and external stakeholders.

· Leading more junior staff through the full certification process from initial site visit, identification and collation of evidence and submission to the appropriate bodies within agreed timeframes.

· Supporting with the interpretation of information requirements and communication of these to the client, including the provision of technical advice.

· Managing the delivery of Improvement Programmes to support to sustainability performance at the asset and portfolio level.

· Project manage the ongoing maintenance of certification across the business, including resource planning of delivery team.

· Good leadership skills; ability to work individually and lead tasks

What you will need to succeed /Additional preferables

· BREEAM In-Use Licenced Assessor

· Pan-European delivery experience (including delivery in NSO regions such as The Netherlands or Spain)

· Fluency in European languages

· Membership of an appropriate and recognised professional body (e.g. IEMA practitioner/full member)

· Passion and a determination to deliver excellence are essential qualities as is a commercially astute and innovative approach to delivering client solutions.

Qualifications / Essentials

· Detailed understanding of building certification requirements, specifically the delivery of BREEAM In-Use.

· Depth of technical knowledge of sustainability issues and application to real estate.

· Understanding of building fabric and HVAC systems for commercial buildings.

· Detailed understanding of current and forthcoming energy legislation within UK and Europe.

· Detailed understanding of energy market and drivers within UK and Europe.

· Degree or Masters in Engineering, Architecture, Geography, or similar technical education or experience.

· Commitment to professional excellence through active involvement and membership in an appropriate and recognised professional body.
