Role: Principal Control Systems Engineer

Location: Filton, Bristol

Salary: £37,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

*hybrid working so 50% from home*

We are specialised control and monitoring systems for the marine industry. We are a small, rapidly growing company, specialising in vessel autonomous vessel control, dynamic positioning control and remote monitoring technologies.

The role would primarily involve development autonomous control technology for deployment in unmanned surface vessels. There would be involvement in the full product life cycle from initial control system design through to on-vessel sea trials. This industry is new and fast moving - you will be shaping the autonomous vessels of the future!

We are on the lookout for an exceptional control system engineer who shares our passion for innovation and excellence and who has a "can-do" attitude to lead the control development of this exciting new area.

The following skills as essential

Control system design - good understanding of PID control design and Kalman filter design
Matlab/Simulink - ideally with experience from initial model creation to deployment on target hardware

The following skills are desirable but not essential:

Some broad marine experience
Path planning and collision avoidance
Machine learning
