IT Systems Engineer – Scunthorpe – £37k - £40K
Clemence Rogers are currently recruiting for a IT Systems Engineer to join a well-established company based near Scunthorpe
The successful candidate install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults, and solve technical and application problems, either over the phone or in person.
Key Responsibilities of a IT Systems Engineer:
• Maintenance and ongoing improvement of group IT infrastructure and business systems – Servers, SaaS, MS Cloud, software, and applications.
• Monitor and support business critical systems and infrastructure ensuring that it meets agreed service availability targets and exceeds business expectations.
• Interact with business stakeholders at all levels and act as a second point of contact for technical resource on business and technical problems.
• Ensuring the security of the companies IT\OT Infrastructure and Backup provisions are regularly tested and meet business requirements.
• Support in the specification of IT equipment and software to ensure it is suitable for its intended use and provides value for money to the business.
• Assessing and managing the risks of any changes to IT systems.
• Support for maintaining the availability and performance of IT Infrastructure and business critical systems used across all divisions, providing business systems and applications to 200+ users across multiple divisions. Ensuring that system can meet their availability and business service level expectations.
• Taking queries by phone, email, or the ticketing system, ensuring that all 2nd and 3rd line support requests and incidents are dealt within agreed SLA’s.
• Support of the companies IT support standards and procedures.
• Support departmental level (local domain) projects, deliver small – medium scale work request and changes.
• Ensure that IT security meets Cyber Essential requirements and IT disaster recovery and backup is regularly tested.
• Maintain the appropriate levels of technical documentation – updating existing documents and procedures as part of change control and release management.
• Investigate, diagnose, and solve computer, printer, software, and mobile device faults to provide first time fixes where possible. Where applicable, you'll use remote access software to provide fixes. Alongside your support role, you'll mentor the 1st Line staff to improve their skills continuously.
• Co-ordinate and manage rapid response and permanent resolution to problems, ensuring that appropriate action is taken to investigate and resolve them, with minimal downtime to systems and services whilst maintaining up to date information on major problem resolution and that problems are fully and appropriately documented.
• Working closely with the OT team and partners to ensure the integrity of proposed solutions, changes, ensuring they meet cyber security requirements.
• This role is responsible for supporting the continued provision of business-critical systems and information and will require work to be performed out of hours as and when required.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their Manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.

• Positive, can-do work ethic, with an ability to challenge the current status quo and wanting to go the extra mile to deliver a meaningful difference.
• Computing related degree and\or Microsoft qualifications
• Microsoft Office 365 administration experience including SharePoint
• Active Directory Services experience, DNS, DHCP, GPO's etc.
• Microsoft Server Technologies (Exchange Online, SQL, Hyper-V, Azure, etc.)
• Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection suite of products
• Microsoft InTune MDM Deployment technologies
• Experience of Backup and Recovery technologies (Altaro\Veeam)
• Networking - Switch, Router and Firewall administration skills
