Department: Technology - LNRS Data Services Business Systems (part of RELX group)

Location: Sutton (Surrey)

The Role:

LexisNexis Risk Solutions (LNRS) Data Services Group seek an experienced Product Owner to join our Wordpress squad which is part of our Business Systems division. The Business Systems division manages a broad suite of industry leading enterprise SAAS and custom solutions on behalf of our businesses, enabling them to leverage insights and act on new and emerging opportunities, to better meet their customer needs.

The role will be responsible for managing the Wordpress platform, primarily hosting our commercial free-to-air sites. You will be pivotal in shaping delivery of website launches and new features, delivering against the product vision and aiming to truly understand and delight our customer's needs, and enabling our stakeholders to realise revenue growth and improve retention.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be a 'whole product thinker' - viewing products holistically, considering all aspects of the Wordpress product from user experience to security and compliance.

As Product Owner you will be responsible for driving the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the Wordpress platform as well as for ensuring consistent successful delivery from your scrum teams. You will work with multiple internal stakeholders to understand their business unit objectives and to align priorities and dependencies across the product portfolio. You will support your stakeholders in their decision making by helping them clearly articulate and quantify underlying business benefits behind requested change and by leveraging quantitative insight where appropriate.

Collaborate with key stakeholders within each Business Unit to help define the product strategy, vision and development priorities​
Act as voice of the customer​, gathering feedback and requirements from stakeholders and working with BAs and Developers to translate these into development tasks
Communicate the product vision and deliver regular progress updates to Key Stakeholders
Define the product roadmap​, manage and reprioritise the backlog
Elicit the underlying benefit of new requirements - asking "why?"
Enable stakeholders to understand the cost / benefit equation, and pushing back when justification is not clear
Promote use of quantitative decision making by stakeholders
Ensure stakeholders understand and commit to project initiation processes and guidelines
Oversee the development pipeline including UAT to ensure the business units are aware of development releases, and that approvals are provided
Help foster and develop the self-serve culture within the company to ensure the business units have the knowledge, skills and resources to drive value
Ensure DevOps processes and roadmap being maintained and actioned
Ensure the squad maintains the health of the Platform through regular updates, fixes and managing technical debt
Keeping up-to-date with and leveraging emerging technologiesExperience/knowledge/skills/behaviours:

Essential:

1-2 years' experience as a Product Owner or 3-4 years' experience as a Business Analyst working within a technical development team
Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and able to translate them into development priorities for the squad.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, demonstrates skill and resilience in their ability to negotiate with internal stakeholders, and to secure constructive outcomes in the face of conflicting stakeholder demands on resource
Experience of working in an Agile development team with a proven track record of delivery
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area or relevant experience
Confident user of basic web analytics in decision making
Experience of scoping of work, prioritisation and leading and owning stakeholder relationships
Experience of working with content management systems or web development teams
Confident use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint SkillsDesirable:

Experience of directing / working with remote development resources / teams
Experience of producing or working with wireframes
Prior software development experience
Experience of WordPress
Understanding of DevOps processes
Basic knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure & Amazon Web ServicesType of person that would suit this role:
