Driver - Local Route | Seasonal

 



Monte Package Company, a division of Bunzl, is hiring a seasonal driver. It is getting busy and we are looking for an additional driver to assist us during our peak season from now through October. The driver will transport products in a safe manner and follow proper DOT regulations to/from local farmers and packers.  



The driver will work up to 60 hours per week during peak season.



$16.50 per hour up to 40 hours / $24.75 over-time rate



This is a local route position - home nightly! The shift starts at 7am.



The delivery radius is within 100 miles of the warehouse located in Riverside, Michigan.



Responsibilities:



Operate tractor-trailer combination in a safe and professional manner at all times 



Deliver products to customers on time, while providing complete customer service



Limited touch freight



Backhauls as required



Maintain DOT logs daily and comply with all other DOT procedures/regulations 



Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer units, in compliance with DOT regulations



Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment



 Requirements:



High school diploma or equivalent preferred



Must have a valid Class A CDL license with a valid medical card



Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial transportation or a graduate of an accredited truck driving school 



Ability to operate a tractor-trailer in a safe and efficient manner



Possess knowledge of all applicable state and federal DOT regulations



Ability to read and correctly interpret route manifests and invoices



Must be able to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation (occasionally 60-75 lbs)



Previous experience with an Automatic On-Board Recording Device (AOBRDs), such as OMNI Trax, is preferred
