Senior Power Analyst

Our award winning Commodity Trading client is seeking a Senior Power analyst to join their team in a Full time permanent role.

What you will do:

• Work with, maintain high quality and further develop our fundamental stack-model based European power generation and price forecasts, preferred focus on UK, Baltic and Nordic countries
• Support the Power trading teams with short and medium-term (1 month - 1 year) fundamental analysis of scenarios and sensitivities
• Support the Origination desks with regular market updates, both in written and verbal form
• Research, analyze and forecast mid and long-term market trends (out to 10 years ahead) and regulatory changes and identify trading opportunities
• Ensure data integrity from and to our clients databases
• Work in an Award-winning* team of very talented energy markets analysts

What you bring & who you are:

• Ideally, you bring in-depth experience in relevant energy markets analysis, modelling, and forecasting, preferably in the European power sector
• Strong communication skills in English, verbal and written, with the ability to adjust the communication to the needs of the recipient and to explain complex issues in a clear and concise manner
• French language skills is an advantage but no requirement
• University degree in Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Finance or Engineering
• Coding skills (Python, R, SQL, etc.)
• High attention to detail and strong numerical skills
• Team player
• Ability to work under pressure and with a commercial mind-set
