Solar Design Engineer - large scale solar PV, UK market. Salary negotiable but circa 50,000 - 60,000 + bonus. South-East /England area
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic solar design engineer to join the UK team of a significant European Energy developer/investor/operator.
The firm have a large pipeline of ground mount and rooftop solar projects going into construction imminently, so need a design engineer to complete the detailed design work.
The role
This is the lead design role in the UK team.
You can be home based as long as you're able to get into the London based office when required (probably bi-weekly or monthly).
You will design solar PV and battery projects for commercial projects from roof top systems of hundreds of KWp to utility scale ground mount up to 50MWp.
You will liaise with the UK sales and central engineering team.
You will be required to communicate with the client so good communication skills are essential.
Essential skills & experience:
* Solid experience designing large scale solar projects (multi MW) ground mount (and roof mounted too preferably)
* 3 years' minimum practical experience with PV system design using PVsyst and AUTOCAD
* Good knowledge of UK solar sector and regulations
* Engineering / technical degree level education
* Good MS Office skills, with very strong Excel
* Self-starter with high attention to detail
* Good communication skills - verbal & written
* Comfortable with some UK travel and visits to the office
It's likely the company will establish an office in London in the near future, currently the team work independently from home and get together for team meetings each month
Remuneration
Good basic salary (probably 50,000 - 60,000) based on experience and value add - the client is flexible on salary and will consider more experienced engineers, and also more junior applicants if they show lots of potential.
