Location: Home based with travel to the offices in Warwickshire (Flexible).

We are looking for enthusiastic, creative and analytical mid-level Software Developer's to add further talent to the IT delivery teams within our client's thriving Guidewire Centre of Excellence in Warwickshire.

You will be part of a fast-paced, collaborative, Agile development team that is moving towards a fully-fledged DevOps culture with processes and tooling to drive efficiencies and innovation.

The role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop their career and play a role in the development and support of the Group's future General Insurance solutions.

Not only will you be working within a great team environment, you'll be creating valuable solutions for a company that puts our customers' needs at the heart of everything they do.

Ideal experience:

  • Java or Guidewire software development experience in a commercial environment - 2/3 years
  • The ability to contribute to technical discussions on how best to model a solution
  • Knowledge on best practice and use of past experience to articulate reasons for adopting design decisions
  • Experience of IT software development and methodologies
  • Experience in Java or Object-Oriented programming
  • The ability to work closely with the business community at all levels of the organisation to understand their goals and issues
  • Able to adapt in an Agile development environment and be flexible in approach to work environment and responsibilities
  • Good interpersonal skills with clear, concise communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Able to work both individually and as a strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively on a day-to-day basis
  • A pro-active, creative, analytical and enquiring nature
  • A desire to provide excellent customer service; taking responsibility and ownership of requirements and issues
  • Compliance with team, department and company policy and procedure
  • ITIL awareness
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • Experience of Gosu Scripting (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of the Guidewire ClaimCenter/BillingCenter product (desirable)
Training will be provided in Guidewire and Gosu Scripting, so this is an excellent opportunity to expand your tech stack, transition to a new role and embrace a new challenge.
