The purpose of the role is to limit the occurrence and business impact of adverse events, while contributing to business success through management of Information Security operational risks.

As a Technology Engineer in our client's Information Security function in London, you will join an information security team where you will be responsible for:

- managing the security elements within technology, security and business projects as well as BAU activities
- providing input to help shape future security strategy,
- supporting the IT and Security Risk and Control agenda.

The primary objective is to help implement and oversee the appropriate security controls in order to deter, prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from, security threats and incidents.

The Technology Engineer will be required to collaborate, and enact technical actions, with the infrastructure teams, the software development teams, other internal departments and 3rd party suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include:
Provide subject matter expertise on security architecture, authentication and system security
Review the design of technical solutions provided by technology teams and other internal project teams to validate adherence to security best practices and compliance with internal policies
Provide Information Security risk oversight (advisory, review, and challenge)
Identify current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities and threats
Assist with the creation of documentation needed to complete audits and assessments
Close engagement with key stakeholders and implementation of key security initiatives
Maintain a backlog of all security requirements
Ensure technical and professional risk management expertise is developed and maintained
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
Strong information security and technology background - cloud based as well as on-premises environments
Hands-on experience delivering Information Security projects such as: identity and access control (IAM), role-based access (RBAC), security risk and compliance, staff training and education or incident response in regulated environments
Expertise in preparing high quality documentation
Confidence when presenting to Team Members, peers, and Technology Leadership Team levels
Security specialist qualifications preferable but not expected (eg CISA, CRISC, CCSK or CISSP)
