Web Developer

The growth of the Wessex Learning Trust has provided an exciting opportunity for a key Web Developer role within the technical team. The purpose of the role is to be accountable for designing, developing and managing software solutions, including web site builds for the Trust schools, business systems for the Trust's Operational teams and innovative e-learning solutions for effective contemporary teaching and learning and home-study. The successful candidate will be part of the Wessex Learning Trust technical team based at Kings Academy, Cheddar.
Candidates will need to demonstrate the following :
- Have excellent communication skills, and interpersonal skills, to ensure all stakeholders involved are satisfied with the post-holder's performance
- Have excellent problem-solving skills, to have the ability to think outside the box to find solutions to complex problems that are not only creative but efficient
- Have enviable attention to detail in all aspects of IT and general presentation of one's work
- Show flair and creativity in the IT field, having empathy, understanding and support with team members who are less experienced in IT
- Maintain fluency in one or more programming languages, such as HTML, PHP, SQL and My SQL and knowledge of Digital Media Production and Graphic Design
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
- Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
