Senior Staff Internal Auditor

Responsibilities:
Individually or in a team, create process documentation of an area under audit or being considered for audit. Within that documentation, identify all existing controls and identify potential control weaknesses. Test controls deemed to be significant or critical. Complete substantive audit testing procedures for assigned projects. Individually or in a team, conduct audits in compliance with university policies and rules and in compliance with laws and applicable state and federal regulatory standards and mandates. Based on procedures performed identify deficiencies in existing controls and missing controls, identify inappropriate activities and formulate recommendations for improvements in university operations and systems.

Oversee Internal Audit staff and students and perform various supervisory duties, including help hire and evaluate staff and students, schedule and monitor work hours, review and provide feedback. Acquire and analyze data to plan and perform audits.

Required Qualifications:
A relevant Bachelor's Degree. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in auditing or accounting. Candidate should be able to demonstrate technical skills commensurate with education and experience along with highly developed interpersonal skills, communication skills (both oral and written), and strong technology skills. Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyze data and information to draw informed conclusions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Accounting. Preference for candidates with documented GPA of 3.0 or greater both overall and major. Knowledge of fund accounting (highly preferred) and highly developed organizational skills. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and/or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor).

Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this position starts at $60,000.00 annually commensurate with experience and qualifications.
