Investment Manager - Solar and Storage, London. Salary to 69,000 + car/allowance + bonus and nice benefits

This is an exciting opportunity with a leading distributed energy and private networks business who finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial and residential customers - providing them with a market leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset management.

The role

The Investment Manager will orchestrate and manage relationships with solar and storage developers with the view to scale up company's pipeline of early stage and ready-to-build developments, in line with the strategy of growing company's solar and storage portfolio.

The main purpose of the job is to structure commercial deals with developers, manage project due diligence, governance and legal agreements, and support in transitioning projects to late-stage development, construction and operation.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Acquisitions, a successful candidate will have responsibility for managing acquisitions or partnerships across the entire deal lifecycle:

* Origination - help establish new and maintain existing relationships with developers and other counterparties, follow up on opportunities and update pipeline reporting
* Financial analysis and valuations - develop and update financial models to enable expedient assessment of opportunities, project valuations, investment returns and to support commercial terms offered to counterparties. Experience in working with complex financial models is essential
* Risk management - working closely with the transaction team and commercial colleagues, help identify project-specific and market risks, assessing potential impacts on the project and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies
* Due diligence, governance and legal documentation - coordination of internal teams and external consultants involved in due diligence, governance and legal documentation of acquisitions and early-stage project development
* Team - the successful candidate will help coach and develop less experienced members of the acquisitions team. She/he will also liaise with and coordinate a wide variety of stakeholders and functions (e.g., legal, technical, finance) across the Group

Essential requirements

* Background in M&A due diligence or project development
* Understanding of the acquisition deal lifecycle typical due diligence governance and legal documentation
* Proficiency in Excel and ability to comfortably navigate investment financial models developing scenario and sensitivity analyses
* Understanding of financial valuation and returns
* Experience reviewing information in data rooms provided by sellers and identifying red flags in grid connection agreements planning documents and property rights
* Experience drafting offers and commercial heads of terms
* Understanding of key legal documentation such as an exclusivity agreement share and purchase agreement JV agreement development services agreement etc.
* Confident ability to instruct technical, legal, financial and market/commercial advisers, and review their deliverables
* Experience in renewables including solar and storage strongly preferred

* Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to engage with the wider team at the company and contribute beyond the immediate remit of the role.


Salary range 46,000 - 69,000 + car/allowance + performance related bonus + attractive benefits
