L3 Storage Administrator SME/Specialist - DELL EMC Products

Required skill set: SAN (DELL EMC) & Switch Expertise (Brocade & Cisco), Dell EMC unity, VNX, Clarion, VNXe, VMAX, POWERVAULT

Rate: 300 Euro per day

Duration: 6 months initially

Location: Remote anywhere

Required skills

• Detailed SAN knowledge
• Excellent switch knowledge (Cisco & Brocade)
• Excellent Administration/Design and Implementation knowledge in DELL EMC unity, VNX, Clarion, VNXe, VMAX, DELL POWERVAULT
• Excellent Administration/Design knowledge in Storage replications
• Strong Knowledge of Performance analysis factors of Storage Arrays
• knowledge of using SYMCLI
• Solving complicated Hardware cases and Liaising with Hardware Vendor support
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and identify the severity of the issue, Ability to Resolve issues quickly to account/customer satisfaction, and Prepare RCA
• Creating volumes and adding into storage groups
• Creating Meta volumes, Binding, and adding volumes into SG
• Performing SAN allocation and deallocation on EMC Unity
• Performing NAS Share/Exports creation on EMC NAS storage
• To contribute to the end-to-end design of infrastructure solutions and the creation and maintenance of related component standards
• To ensure designs and solutions in their respective infrastructure solution area align and adhere to the organization's Technical Architecture Framework (TAF) policies, standards, and direction
• To provide technical recommendations and contributes to position papers, white papers, and best practices for the infrastructure solutions and the use cases for their respective solution areas
• To stay aware of operational challenges and opportunities
• Responsible for hardware and software installation and configuration or storage subsystem, upgrade, and patches
• Seeks ways to maximize the efficiency of themselves and their team
• Expertise in Capacity Management
• Research reviews and provides recommendations to management relative to vendor-supplied software packages to support stated team goals and project requirements
• Set priorities and validate services are delivered in a timely and efficient manner according to IT policies and standards
• Ensure all activities are managed per IT methodology and processes
• Execute incident response and break-fix triage process storage related issues
• Provide suggestions to improve the delivery of services by the team
• Report operational service metrics with actionable plans to improve operational efficiency, enhance service quality/SLA, and optimize delivery
• Deliver advanced technology solutions focused on the entire life cycle of data in high growth, highly technical environment
• Provides Level 3 (advanced) technical system expertise
• Provide Level3 expertise for break-fix issues
• Excellent knowledge of Port management for effective SAN switch utilization
• Minimum of 10+ years of EMC SAN products Experience.
• Certifications on EMC Storages

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience in a Disaster Recovery environment
• Ability to build, implement and test a DR Plan
• In-depth understanding of local & remote replication enablement
• Excellent experience in working on Brocade & Cisco SAN Fabrics. (Zone management, De Zoning, LSAN, ISL, IFL)
• Hands-on experience in DC-DR SAN fabric management
• Knowledge on Unified storage arrays and storage decommission strategies
