The Demolition Engineer or Civil Engineer will be part of a diverse team of in house and external professionals engaged to deliver the required objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Promote and take ownership for the safety and quality management culture on assigned projects
  • Fulfil the role of lead demolition engineer for assigned demolition projects, and coordinate specialists' activities
  • Provide specialist technical advice and expertise to project teams on decommissioning and demolition matters
  • Identify survey requirements, procure and manage consultants/surveys, undertake surveys, review technical reports, and progress solutions to technical issues that arise
  • Prepare technical documentation for demolition contracts, such as but not limited to the technical and nontechnical specifications, pricing schedules and bills of quantities, direct the production of drawings, and review and assemble contract packages
  • Prepare reports on demolition concepts, outline demolition plans, such as to support planning permission applications and environmental studies
  • Manage demolition projects through the procurement and contract negotiation phase, and manage demolition contracts
  • Undertake site supervision and report of progress
  • Identify and engage with internal and external stakeholders to accurately define project scope, programme requirements and available budget
  • Develop and manage project implementation plans covering key aspects of scope, programme, and cost.
  • Ensure adherence to requirements
  • Ensure that information is produced, managed, and maintained appropriately and consistent with our procedures

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • The successful candidate will have: -
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience involved in the demolition of industrial facilities
  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in civil and structural engineering/construction or demolition
  • Comprehensive understanding of decommissioning and demolition processes
  • Comprehensive understanding of pre-survey and investigation requirements for demolition
  • Demonstrable strong technical/design skills
  • Demonstrable experience in the successful delivery of large complex projects or aspects of large complex projects of a multi-disciplinary nature
  • Demonstrable experience in Contract Administration
  • A proven ability to work as part of a project team
  • Ability to analyse and interpret the Customer's needs and requirements and contribute to the production of an appropriate project brief and to critically review a brief prepared by others
  • The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Full driving licence and access to a car
