Energy Performance Engineer, Flexible - UK and Ireland. Salary range 33,500 - 50,300 + car/cash allowance + bonus up to 10% + benefits

This is an exciting opportunity with a leading distributed energy and private networks business who finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial and residential customers - providing them with a market leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset management.

The role

The role will focus on bringing legacy systems into the 21st Century by designing smart energy systems that deliver multiple benefits for clients including carbon reduction, construction cost optimisation, revenue generation or operating cost reduction.

The projects support large buildings, campuses or developments across the UK. You'll combine a meticulous attention to detail and a passion for innovation to deliver engineering tasks necessary for the successful development of smart energy systems.

The role reports to the Smart Energy Systems Engineering Team Lead.

Key responsibilities

* Developing concept designs that you will eventually see all the way through to operation; engineers will be required optimise competing design considerations, such as cost and efficiency.
* Fundamental to this role is a strong understanding of at least one distributed energy systems (solar PV, LV electricity systems, heat pumps, mechanical building services, electric vehicle chargers or energy storage).
* Working on net-zero energy strategies, detailed design of individual energy systems, working with project development mangers to appraise investment decisions for the company, liaising with consultants & subcontractors and report write-up throughout project stages.
* You'll support the delivery teams during pre and post-construction with engineering deliverables.
* You'll work within smart energy systems team which has an established track record of decarbonisation projects over many years.

Essential requirements

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

* Degree qualified engineer (mechanical, electrical, building services, renewables energy systems, or related/ similar) with experience working in an engineering consultancy
* Experience with software packages such as IES VE, AutoCAD etc.
* Communicate, influence and manage the expectations of a range of internal and external stakeholders, at times making sure technical information is presented accurately and effectively understood by the audience. You should also be comfortable liaising with clients where necessary
* Experience with energy performance contracts and knowledge of energy markets & economics would be desirable

Remuneration

Salary in the range 33,500 - 50,300 + car/cash allowance + bonus to 10% + benefits
